I have recently wanted to make a set of Inspiration Cards. Upon doing my normal research (youtube and pinterest) I made my first 5 cards. Lovely, and it had only taken me about a week and a half, which is fine but I was getting somewhat anxious to get this Inspiration done, to get on with the next. I believe I am what is called a Perfectionist, not necessarily that I finish anything, as I want things to be so perfect I tend to not finish them because they don't seem to be heading into the perfect complection. So I had seen some videos, several I might add showing just gluing the cards onto a backing and making your background from there. Now I'm not a big fan of Modge Podge for the lasting as for some reason it always ends up sticky months later for me. So I didn't use it, after slapping tissue papers, texture, and paints I agreed I was happy with my background and it was time to get my cards ready for the finale decoration and inspiring message. It was so very hard to find my deck of cards under all this background that I ended up cutting one of my cards, then after getting a couple more cut out the whole backing just starts peeling off some of them. I should have prepared them (sanded, gessoed) and maybe somehow lined them up better for the separation? So now after my whole play time is waisted I have decided I will try a different approach and try an 11x14 piece of watercolor paper and after I am satisfied with my background I will glue that to poster board and go from there. But since my playtime is over and the real world of work calls me I must leave it at this.
But not all is lost as I just earned enough from my Swagbucks account to get an Amazon gift card to which I purchased an Ott light. Again welcome to my Cave, and since it will be delivered by the time I have a day off again I will wait. But for now...
